Lord Teach Me To Pray (LTMTP) is a three-part Ignatian prayer series developed as an outreach program in 2001 to meet the desire for men and women for on-going spiritual growth as they respond to the call to holiness, to a deeper commitment to Jesus Christ, and a participation in the New Evangelization. Through facilitated faith-sharing communities, it endeavors to bring the Holy Spirit into our daily lives in facilitated faith-sharing prayer communities, where, the Lord, Himself, teaches them to pray.

The three parts are taken in succession.
Each part is a pre-requisite for the next part.

Part 1 - Thursdays from 10am-12noon in Room 204.
Praying Christian Virtues (12 weeks) introduces participants to Ignatian pray in the way that St. Ignatius himself introduced people to prayer; i.e., by structuring their initial prayer and experience around the Christian virtues and Scripture.

Part 2 - My 19th Annotation (30 weeks, broken into 2 parts) consists entirely of the well-known “Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius.” They have been adapted from the 30-day Ignatian Retreat to accommodate those in the world who cannot leave their family and livelihood for an extended period of time.

Part 3 - Discernment and Gifts of the Spirit (14 weeks), provides participants with general catechesis of the Holy Spirit with emphasis on the sanctifying gifts of the Holy Spirit as they pray with the related Scriptures. St. Ignatius Rules of Discernment are also introduced.

Note: At this time LTMTP is offered only to women. Only women facilitators facilitate groups for women. In January 2010, the series was adapted and is now offered to men. Facilitators for groups are trained to facilitate, not to teach and direct.
